I really like this idea, and the quote itself is all over the internet. It wasn’t so easy tracking down where Chua first wrote it but it turns out it was in her 2011 novel Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother (Chapter 14 London, Athens, Barcelona, Bombay’).
